BOOK NOW

There is only one main access to the old capital of Malta, so it will not be difficult for you to find the location where the tour will kick off, that is to say the main gate of Mdina. There, you can identify your guide who will be wearing a white hat with a black horizontal stripe.

Description

Knowing the history of a new place can become a mess of dates and names that are soon forgotten. That is not the case of what you will discover during this tour of Mdina. The ancient capital of Malta, with its cobbled streets and limestone houses, figures among the European cities that receive most visitors.

– Why has this city directly witnessed the passage of all the civilizations that have historically dominated the Mediterranean?

– How has it managed to survive devastating earthquakes, and even intense bombings during World War II?

– Why is the place currently known as “The Silent City”?

A pleasant walk of about an hour will allow you to have the answers to those questions, and also to enjoy the best views of the city and to discover some of the most emblematic buildings of Mdina.

Important Aspects

For this activity – which will be carried out exclusively in English – comfortable footwear and a sufficient water supply are recommended. Clients are also advised to ensure appropriate seasonal clothing which would protect them from the sun in the hotter months and which would shield them from cold and rain during the wintry period.

You are kindly asked to be on time as a sign of courtesy towards other clients. However, five minutes grace will be accorded before the tour sets off.

These tours are totally free and there is no obligation to effect any kind of prepayment. If at the end of the tour you feel that the work of the guide is worthy of a tip, you will be free to reward the guide’s effort and dedication as you may deem appropriate.
